Meet the materials: Bamboo

We use natural bamboo as the facing and exterior surface of many of our speakers like the Get Together Range, and the Stir it Up turntable. This hard wood surface is more durable than plastic or other synthetic materials, and creates a more sustainable product by increasing the longevity of the speaker.

Bamboo is also an extremely fast-growing wood, capable of growing up to four feet in a single day under the right conditions. That means that bamboo forests can recover from harvesting very quickly, with little impact on the ecosystem they live in. Though there are some concerns about clearing other natural forests to make way for bamboo farms, in general bamboo is considered an extremely sustainable resource, and certainly more sustainable than other kinds of wood.
